Para configurar una ip fija en linux Debian hay que editar el siguiente archivo: /etc/network/interfaces
[code]#nano /etc/network/interfaces[/code]
Tendremos algo cmo esto:

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp[/sourcecode]
Lo cambiamos por esto:
[sourcecode language=»plain»]
# The primary network interface
allow-hotplug eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.7
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1
[/sourcecode]
Ahora solo hace falta configurar los DNS para que resuelvan sin problema.
